I love texture, and this is a piece that for some reason appeals to me. I am primarily known for bright colors, etc. . . . so this is a bit out of character. I get bored easily, so must continue to experiment and play.
I have been a producing artist for over 30 years, starting out as a potter/sculptor back in my native Michigan. I now paint, work with mixed media, and a bit of photography. . .and now and then, a little clay! I have become known primarily for my work in a dimensional, recycled mixed media w/acrylic, and all of my originals are also available as prints and as cards. Joining Fine Arts America has led me to pull out some of my old images, and to find a renewed interest and pleasure in the techniques and styles that I have passed through over the past few years. What a wonderful winter leafless vine! I think it is a great painting as it is! I know what you mean about "playing," Wayne. I try about every new thing I see and mix it with everthing else! Most of these, as you might guess, never see the light of day, letterally because I do a major amount of my painting at night, but sometimes I come up with something I can "fix up" later or with an idea to try out for a "serious" painting, or "postable," or whatever I'd like anybody else to see who is located far enough away not to hit me!
