About Wayne Potrafka
I have been a producing artist for over 30 years, starting out as a potter/sculptor back in my native Michigan. I now paint, work with mixed media, and a bit of photography. . .and now and then, a little clay! I have become known primarily for my work in a dimensional, recycled mixed media w/acrylic, and all of my originals are also available as prints and as cards. Joining Fine Arts America has led me to pull out some of my old images, and to find a renewed interest and pleasure in the techniques and styles that I have passed through over the past few years.
I am the co-owner of Riverview Gallery in Portsmouth, Va. and my work is carried in galleries and museum shops throughout Virginia. I have fun with my work, somewhat of a reversal to childhood, and I have minimal interest in subject matter and great interest in texture, color, and movement. I am the past president of the Chesapeake Bay Art Association, and would encourage any artist from the Hampton Roads area to contact me regarding membership in this valuable organization. I hope that you enjoy the images, and I would love to hear from you with any questions or comments. Note cards are available for all images.
